Estimates, not advice

    Total cost of credit calculator

See how much of what you repay is interest, and how much is the original amount. Optional monthly fees sit on top of the loan.

    Your credit

One account. Use the payment you already make, or the term you were given.

    What do you know?

Leave at R0 if you are only looking at interest. Fees do not reduce the balance.

These figures are illustrative estimates, not financial, legal, or debt-review advice. Real agreements may add fees, insurance, or rate changes. Speak to an NCR-registered counsellor before you make decisions.

    How the estimate works

    Monthly interest

The annual rate is divided by 12. Each month, interest is added and then the payment comes off the balance.

    Payment or term

From a payment, we count months to zero. From a term, we work out the instalment that would clear the amount in that time.

    Fees sit on top

A monthly fee is multiplied by the months in the estimate. It is part of total repaid. It does not pay down the loan.

    Common questions

Is this the National Credit Act total cost of credit?

No. This page is an estimate from the numbers you enter. It does not apply statutory initiation fees, service-fee caps, or credit life.

Why does a payment fail to reduce the balance?

If the payment is less than or equal to that month’s interest, the balance does not fall. The calculator stops instead of running forever.
